此墨制于明代晚期，系私人订制品，墨式新颖，质地精良。墨呈团龙状。上有双龙盘卧。一面填蓝楷书“玄金”、阳文楷书“鸣球藏墨”。一面阴文篆书“壬午”、阳文楷书“伯祥镌”。此墨造型新颖，风格古朴，是一件艺术和实用相结合的墨品。有刻墨人款更显珍贵。伯祥为明天启，崇祯时期刻墨模工匠。《文物藏品定级标准图例文房用具卷》中收录有同类墨。
