Two Seljuk Bronze Protomes Iran, Khorasan, 12th century, or later. Two bronze feline protomes, with long erect ears and bodies decorated with openwork interlacing, resting on curved legs, each with a finely decorated openwork boss, with green patina. It is said that these were mounted above a large doors, and used for hanging lamps, or banners. Length: 55 cm, Diam: 24 cm. Reference: For a very similar lion protome, see: G.
