Pair of magnificent vases with bronze mounts Sèvres mark, 2nd half of 19th c. Polychrome painted, gold decorated, bronze mountings. H 55 cm. Ovoid body with bronze mounted floral handles, rim, knob lid and stand. Rich rocaille relief painting and floral painting, on the obverse side of each a Watteau scene, on the reverse side of each a seascape Bronze mounting at the mouth rim not attached. The vases are gifts on the occasion of the wedding of "Miss Emilie Gottschalk with Mr. Emanuel Mühsam, Märkisch Friedland, November 16, 1859", enclosed original wedding newspaper, printed Robert Lucas in Breslau (on silk, backed with paper).
