House painter tabatiere 2nd H. 18th century 4 x 7 x 5.5 cm. Painting attributed to Johann Andreas Bechdolff. All sides meticulously painted architectural landscapes in purple camaieu. Floral bouquet on the lid. Gilded mount with hinge and thumb grip At the bottom small glaze defect. Bechdolff, 1734-1807, was 1748-1764 painter at the faience and porcelain manufactory in Ellwangen and at the faience factory in Schrezheim. Since then worked as an independent enamel and jar painter in Ellwangen.
