Rare baroque tea caddy with chinoiserieMeissen. 1725-1730. Height: 11 cm. All sides fine colored painting with six different chinoiseries after Johann Gregorius Höroldt. Circumferential acanthus leaf borders in relief with gilded ribs. Gilded metal mount with hood lid. Unglazed base, maker s mark of Caspar Meißner senior (1689 Scharffenberg - 1751 Meissen), collaborator of Johann Friedrich Böttger. Sword mark Gold partially rubbed. Chinoiseries, a cheerful, often grotesque world that depicts everyday life in Chinese garb.
