A Luristan bronze “Master of Animals” standard finial and support, 9th – 7th century BC, Western Iran, Cast bronze bifacial “Master of Animals” standard finial atop a tubular collared baluster shape standard support. The finial comprises of a central tube, modelled to resemble a anthropomorphic figure with feline legs and haunches. On either side are biting beast’s heads turned toward the head of the central figure. L (finial with standard support) 29 cm, Fine condition, with dark green patina. Provenance: -Dutch private collection Cf.
