A collection of Sumerian clay tablets, Southern Mesopotamia, ca. 4th – 2nd millennium BC, Eight various Sumerian clay objects, two of which are socalled bullae: small envelopes with stamp(s), some containing small tokens and dating from the 4th millennium BC. The other six are proper clay tablets with cuneiform writing. The tablets date from circa 2500 – 1500 BC. One of the bullae has a small opening (damage) showing a small token inside. One of the fully intact clay tablets still sits in what is left of its envelope. Various sizes. Tablet with envelope measures ca. 5.2x4x2 cm, Three fully intact tablets.
