A set of twelve The Hague decorated Tournai porcelain plates, Ca. 1777-80, Netherlands, A fine set of plates, the blanks were produced at Tournai in Belgium (then part of the Netherlands) and decorated in The Hague (Netherlands). The centres feature bird scenes, the borders in deep cobalt and gilt in combination with polychrome floral garlands. D 24 cm, Very good condition. No chips, no cracks or hairlines and no restoration. Gilding in very good condition with minimal wear. Another plate from this service (held by the Kunstmuseum in The Hague), is dated 1776 and considered to be one of the earliest Hague decorated porcelains.
