A powder-blue-ground iron-red and gilt carp plate, Kangxi period, ca. 1700, China, A superb and rare dish, featuring a carp (fish), executed in iron red with gilt highlights, against a deep powder-blue ground with gilt depictions of seaweed. The back rim also in powder blue. Not marked. Old Collection Vecht Amsterdam label on the back. D 19,8 cm, Good condition. No damage or restoration. No hairlines and no chips or fritting. Slight wear of the gilding. From a Dutch collection. Bought from Kunstzalen Vecht in 1989.
