C. studied architecture in Madrid from 1943-46, then painting, and moved to Paris in 1948. In 1951 he settled in Hernani in the Basque Country as a freelance sculptor. His largely monumental sculptures were shown several times at Documenta and at countless solo exhibitions. His figure 'Berlin' stands in front of the Federal Chancellery.
