Idar-Oberstein, Germany A classic German sculpture of fine quality in which each bird is carved from a single specimen of agate: the brown portion of the agate used to depict the head, back and wings and the grey portion the cheeks and breast. The vermeil feet rest upon and are removable from the vermeil tree branch upon which they sit. Raised on a rectangular polished base of obsidian, signed with EB monogram for Emil Becker and M.
