Wah Wah Mountains, UtahRed beryl (formerly known as "Bixbite" and marketed as "red emerald" or "scarlet emerald") is a red variety of Beryl. It was first described in 1904. The dark red color is attributed to Manganese ions. Utah is the only known locality for the mineral. The claim, once briefly operated by Tiffany and Co. in search of treasured gem rough, is now entirely depleted and closed. A rectangular step-cut beryl with a purplish-red hue. Weighing approximately 3.02 carats and measuring 9.05 x 7.69 x 5.67mm
