A Chinese black lacquer box dating from the 17th century with mother of pearl inlay. The top depicts 3 figures in a courtly garden while the sides each feature a landscape. Dimensions are: 2 3/4 inches tall X 5 3/4 inches wide X 3 3/4 inches deep, 6.99 cm X 14.61 cm X 9.53 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Widespread cracking, chipping, loss to the mother of pearl inlay, loss to the surface, generally poor condition. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is.
