Boat desk type chest; France, 19th century. Camphor wood, brass and bronze. The key is missing and there are marks on the veneer. Measurements: 28 x 50.5 x 26 cm. Rectangular-structured boot which, when opened, takes the form of a ship's desk, portable, made of camphor wood and brass. The piece has a trapezoidal structure, once opened, with straight and simple lines. It has two folding doors that give way to an interior compartmentalised into two areas. This is highlighted by two staggered spaces, useful for storing documents. The piece has a simple decoration based on the qualities of the material, whose veining gives the piece great expressiveness, and ornamentation made of brass and gilt bronze, arranged on the hinges and side handles.
