精铜制，此弥勒佛箕踞而座，头戴宝冠，两耳垂肩，喜眉乐目，笑口大开。其衣袍宽松，坦胸露腹，腹部浑圆，右手掐串珠，左手提一布袋，乃明代中期典型造像。 弥勒佛，亦称未来佛。历史上有一名叫契此的游方僧人，又号「长汀子布袋师」。据《宋高僧传》卷二十一、《佛祖历代通载》卷二十五载，他是浙江奉化人，容貌古怪，长得矮胖，肚子奇大，常用竹杆挑着一个大布袋，面带笑容，四处化缘，他见物即乞，语无伦次，随地寝卧，如颠似痴。此后，中原的弥勒佛形象多以此人的形象而制。
