Minted in Bronze in 1904, the medal celebrates The University of Wisconsin's 50th Anniversary of service to the commonwealth. The obverse depicts a young male, draped and carrying a torch leaning forward with his left arm stretched upward. In the top left corner are the words NVMEN LVMEN. The reverse has an image of the University in the distance above flowers and garlands and the commemorative statement to the right Smedley #59, Obtained10/83.
