Brenner studied for a few years in Paris, learning from his master medallist mentor - Oscar Roty. Along with galvanos, he learned model bas-relief Medallic designs and his first one was this 1899 Motherhood medal (this one produced for the Circle of Friends in 1911 by Davidson mint in Philadelphia) which had also been one of Roty's themes. Obverse has mother with child with Brenner's signature in the lower right. Reverse has a winged cherub angel, floating on a cloud, playing a horn Smedley # 87, Obtained 5/83.
