An original Kenneth Miller Adams (American 1897 - 1966) self portrait tracing done as an illustration for the Autumn 1949 edition of the New Mexico Quarterly Review. A copy of the publication is included and the image can be found on page 314. On the verso there is a notarized certificate from his widow dated May 1, 1972. Dimensions are: framed the image measures, 16 inches tall X 19 inches wide, 40.64 cm X 48.26 cm; the book measures, 9 1/2 inches X 6 1/2 inches, 24.13 cm X 16.51 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Some rips to the book’s cover and cracking at the spine. The image has some beveling to the paper and some minor yellowing due to its age. The image has not been inspected outside of its frame. Provenance: From a private collection in MD. Kenneth Adams was a member of the Taos Society of Artists. He was an Associate of the National Academy of Design by the time he was 28 and elected as a member in 1961. He worked for the Treasury Relief Art Project and the Federal Art Project in the 30s. His works are in the permanent collections of several museums including: the Smithsonian American Art Museum, New Mexico Museum of Art, Colorado Springs Fine Art Center, American Museum of Western Art - The Anschutz collection, and the Fred Jones Museum of Art at the University of Oklahoma.
