A Chinese thangka painting on cloth of Dhritarashtra, the Heavenly King of the East, dating from the 18th or 19th century. The white-skinned king holds a pipa instrument and sits upon a throne made from the skin of a snow leopard. Dimensions are: 21 inches tall X 15 inches wide, 53.3 cm X 38.1 cm. All measurements are approximate. High resolution photos can be found here. Condition: There is age wear and creasing. Provenance: From a private collection in Lorton, Virginia.
