Warring States PeriodThe first, carefully carved with evenly spaced spiral 'grain' bosses, encircling a central raised medallion incised with a whorl motif, the underside with a circular channel at the centre drilled with two holes, the stone of green tone with russet alterations, 4cm (1 1/2in) diam.; the second, also with a domed medallion at the centre similarly decorated, surrounded by a border of elaborately carved silk-worm and cloud-scroll pattern in low relief, the underside pierced with a set of double channels within a double ring, the opaque stone of a 'chicken bone' colour suffused with minor brown inclusions, 4.4cm (1 3/4in) diam.
