说明：插屏选用祁阳石，利用不同皮色进行巧雕。绿色部分雕芦苇叶，深褐色部分雕三只湖蟹的壳与螯。构思巧妙，宛若天成。蟹两只喻二甲，芦草的芦与胪同音。据《幼学须知》载：「天子临轩，宰臣进三卷，读于御案前，读毕拆视姓名，则曰某人。阁内则承之以传于阶下，卫士六七人，齐声传呼之，谓之传胪。」因「芦」谐「胪」音，又以螃蟹谐「二甲」之意，故寓为金榜题名之意，表达了人们对美好生活的向往。旧时科考一甲第一为状元，二甲第一为传胪，三甲第一也称传胪。寓科举中第之吉兆。背刻诗文。此屏尺寸为书案上之砚屏，是当年莘莘学子钟情之物
