Lid has the name of a famous Chinese poet with a lotus flower. Sides of the teapot has three figures, one is a concubine of the Emperor, Non military Advisor and a Military Advisor. Calligraphy tells the story of a Emperor that is distracted from his duties by his love of a concubine. Marked with a Tang Dynasty symbol. Gilt around lid handle posts and spout rim. Base has no markings. Dimensions are: 4 3/8 inches tall X 3 inches wide; 11.11 cm tall X 7.62 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Missing a brass handle. Points on base uneven which creates a wobble. Provenance: From a private New York City collection.
