Description
Translation provided by Youdao
The sculpture captures the Hellenic deity, Artemis, goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, childbirth, virginity, and young girls, bringing and relieving disease in women. She hunts a bird in flight as we witness her release, her arm hanging gracefully in the air while the bow is held high, marking the direction of the arrow. A heavy robe twines about her form as one of her hunting dogs yaps at her feet. This bronze sculpture was molded using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation and mounted upon a marble base. Dimensions: Height 35 X Width 13 inches. Weight: 33 LBS.
