盘金绣是将金、银材质附着在丝线上形成金、银线，将金、银线按照需求在绣地上盘制成各种纹样，并用色线将其钉缝固定。盘金绣作为中国传统刺绣技艺中代表绣法，历史由来已久，尤其绣线材质与制作工艺具有一定的特殊性，技法繁复，积淀深厚。明清时期制箔技术之成熟，盘金绣开始大为兴盛，多用于绣制皇帝龙袍上的金龙，还用于宫廷装饰，重在强调富丽耀眼的美感与气势，彰显穿着者身份的尊贵。 整件作品构图流畅、规范，使用了盘金、齐针、戗针、接针等多种平绣技法製成，棕褐色的绣面绣出“太平有象”、“吉庆有余”图。主要使用了赤金、黄金两种捻金线，金线极细。整体铺满绣，纹饰设计密而不乱，绣工精细平整，绣工精美绝伦，构图饱满，设色典雅，为典型的宫廷绣品。
