An extremely rare Russian gilded silver and shaded cloisonné enamel kovsh by Feodor Rückert, retailed by Ovchinnikov, circa 1899-1908. Of traditional oval form with hook handle; the front emblazoned with an ornate Imperial Eagle, the sides with detailed depictions of a bird within roundels, the remainder of the body with brightly colored floral ornament against seafoam green and cream ground within cable borders, the underside with Ovchinnikov's mark as retailer overstriking Rückert's maker's mark. Length 5 3/4 in. (14.6 cm).
