A Russian silver gilt, cloisonné enamel, and cut glass inkwell made by Antip Kuzmichev, Moscow, circa 1891. The imposing inkwell made of cut glass in a swirling pattern with a silver gilt mount cast and chased in imitation of a swirling onion dome, the exterior enameled with stylized Greek and Byzantine ornament in shades of turquoise, navy, white, and strawberry raid, set on a tray raised four ball feet and similarly decorated. Engraved with the initials MTT, struck with maker's mark, and with 88 silver standard. Height of inkwell: 4 1/4 in. (10.8 cm). Dimensions of tray: 7 3/8 x 7 1/4 in. (18.7 x 18.4 cm).
