Continental, late 19th century. Pair of ormolu mounted porcelain baluster form lidded urns, in the manner of Sevres, each having a scene with a maiden accompanied by a cupid or cherub, the reverse with a landscape scene, overall with gilded, encrusted and floral decoration. Signed 'C.Velly', with spurious blue interlaced marks with an 'E'. Approx. of one, h. 23", w. 8" handle to handle.
