Founded in 1819 by Thomas Wildey in Baltimore, Maryland, the organization became the first fraternity in the United States to welcome both men and women. Notable members included William Jennings Bryan, Charlie Chaplin, Ulysses S. Grant, and Wyatt Earp. The fraternal order is still active today.
