AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART FELINE AND CANINE INTERIOR SCENE PAINTING, oil on canvas, depicting a new puppy emerging from his straw-filled wooden shipping crate eyeing two kittens at a bowl of milk, hammer, chisel, and nails to left of crate, inscribed "H.E. SEARS / MAINE / EX PD" on shipping label. Housed in likely original gilt and gesso frame. Fourth quarter 19th century. 17 1/4" x 23 1/2" sight, 24" x 30 1/4" OA.
