Samuel F.B. Morse Autograph Letter Signed. One page of a bifolium, 8" x 9.75; Washington; April 1, 1846. A letter written to William Collins, First Auditor of the Treasury of the United States, transmitting $1.70 to balance his accounts as Superintendent of Electro Magnetic Telegraphs for the United States. In part: "I have the honor herewith to transmit to you for adjustment at the Department my Account Current, Abstracts & Vouchers for Expenditures for the Elec. Mag. Telegraph to April 1, 1846…" Signed, "Sam. F. B. Morse." Condition: Evenly toned with flattened folds. Small separations occurring at folds at margins. Light soiling at edges.
