笔筒取上佳小叶紫檀为质，料材硕大，包浆沉郁醇厚。口直筒，微有束腰，整体于端庄中透出秀逸气息。笔筒外雕刻鸣蝉，柿树，微有“金凤窥蝉柿子岭”的意境。小叶紫檀因深得明清两代皇族推崇，明代采伐殆尽，清时尚未复生，来源沽竭，紫檀木生长缓慢，非数百年不能成材，故异常稀有，值得收藏。
