砚铭：天空海阔 浴此瑞日 八表光华 欣然蘸笔 说明 砚式正方，作旭日池，砚面平坦，周围满雕海涛纹 。海波涌动，一轮朝日缓缓升起，静中有动动中有静，美不胜收，表现出作者娴熟高超的技艺水平。赏此砚，犹如身临海滨，遥观日出，令人神清气爽，心旷神怡。盒盖上方镶嵌玉石，雕刻成花卉状，造型别致，令人爱不释手。吴秉钧［清］，字琰青，浙江山阴人，喜蓄砚，其父吴兴柞曾任两广总督。
