A round Chinese dragon ranking badge with gold thread dating from the 18th to 19th centuries. It is mounted on a paper backing and framed. The dragon is depicted chasing a flaming pearl among ruyi clouds surrounded by the babao with a wave and rock motif along the bottom. Dimensions are: 12 inches diameter, 30.5 cm, while the frame measures 16 1/2 inches tall X 16 1/2 inches wide, 41.9 cm X 41.9 cm. All measurements are approximate.
