A Chinese gilt bronze seated Guanyin dating from the Ming dynasty with a hardwood stand. Guanyin is seated in dhyanasana position with two sets of arms in two mudras. She holds auspicious items in her other hands. She is wearing a crown with at least two, possibly three, figures. There is an inscription on the back of the statue. Dimensions are: 10 inches tall X 9 inches wide, 25.4 cm X 22.9 cm. Weight: 2700 grams. All measurements are approximate. High resolution images can be found here Condition: Three hands are missing their items, and another hand's item is broken away. There is an area of abrasion to the crown. There is a large area of loss to the back as well as wear to the gilt and significant age wear throughout. Provenance: From a private New York City collection.
