A pair of Chinese blue and white bowls dating from the Kangxi period. The interiors of the bowls feature a landscape roundel, and the exteriors feature incised and glazed flowers and butterflies. Dimensions are: 3 1/2 inches tall X 7 1/2 inches wide, 8.9 cm X 19.1 cm. All measurements are approximate. High resolution images can be found here Condition: One bowl has rim chips. The other has an abnormal coating on its interior and exterior surfaces. Provenance: Both bowls were sold as part of the Hatcher collection at Christie's in 1984. From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
