Dimensions: 11.625in H x 7.5in W x 7.5in D Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Daoguang Shendetang mark ruby red floral reward vase. The porcelain potted in shape vase, globular body, tapered gracefully toward straight tall neck, slightly flaring opening mouth rim, raised on slightly short a small foot base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in ruby red underglaze base color. Shen de Tang is the "Hall of Prudent Virtue", the main residence of the Daoguang Emperor that was completed at the Imperial Palace in 1831. Porcelain items made for this hall are marked Shen de Tang Zhi. The exterior adorned with flowers blooms interspersed with fresh green foliage, banded with repeating thrashing wavy Lishui water and interlocking key fret in the shoulder. The upper mouth lip decorated with repeating taotie mask enclosed with thick single gilt ring line. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design ,and the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a Shendetang reign mark, Qing Dynasty.
