Dimensions: 12.75"L x 2.375"H Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Yongzheng Doucai motif porcelain plate. The porcelain potted in shallow vessel form, thick and large, with broad wide central interior, rounded cavetto gently tapering to open wide, with a straight open lip, raised with round shallow draft, slight concave base. All reserved in hand painting ornamentations, rendered in clean white under glazed ground color which contrast against the Doucai design color. Doucai decoration the design is outlined in under glaze blue and filled in with over glaze colored enamels except blue. Colors which fit together but also contrasting or joined colors. Decoration in a combination of under glaze cobalt blue outlines and enamels added on top of the fired glaze, within the outlines. The center interior medallion adorned with huge flower bloom among auspicious ornament interspersed with archaic Chinese calligraphy and scrolling interlocking tendril, flowers blooms, fresh foliage, and banded and enclosed with double fine rings on the middle and on the outer mouth rim. The Lines of the drawings are clear, the light and dark shades are subtle. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. Mark on under base, a vertical six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings, YongZheng Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
