A Chinese 5-color Peking glass snuff bottle dating from the 18th century. The snuff bottle is decorated in red, yellow, blue, and green and features pomegranates, a bat, and a grasshopper on a radish against a textured pale blue glass ground. The snuff bottle has a metal stopper inlaid with coral and it has a spoon. Dimensions: 3 inches tall X 1 3/4 inches wide; 7.6 cm tall X 4.4 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Cork has detached from the stopper; snuff bottle has a few very small pits and chips, the largest of which is 5 mm. Provenance: From Mrs. Hillebrand in Chicago. Her father-in-law purchased these items in China and Hong Kong between 1935 and 1970. Lots 79-90 from our March 14, 2019 auction were from the same collection. Click here for high resolution images
