A Chinese sapphire snuff bottle dating from the 19th century. The snuff bottle features a landscape scene on 1 side and 3 archaic characters on the other. The red stopper has no spoon. Dimensions: 1 7/8 inches tall X 1 3/8 inches wide, 4.8 cm tall X 5 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: A small chip beneath the pagoda carving, minor age wear. Provenance: From Mrs. Hillebrand in Chicago. Her father-in-law purchased these items in China and Hong Kong between 1935 and 1970.
