白玉质，体圆，上弧凸，底内凹，并有穿孔可与炉盖结缀。通体以朵云镂雕加线刻，雕饰龙穿牡丹花纹。龙首在顶部，双角，张口露齿，作在花丛中穿插游玩状。花卉枝叶茂盛，采取多层次镂雕而成，采用深打洼工艺，使花茎、叶面、花朵更显立体感。此帽顶为元代典型的透雕、深雕手法，集立体圆雕、透雕、平雕于一体，工艺细腻，镂雕精美，刀法利落，周身立面高地不平，参差不齐，抓握有扎手之感。 此帽顶以龙纹为表现题材，雕工细致精湛，实为元代贵族级别的实用器。明以后，随着人们头顶多用束发之冠而不再用帽，于是把许多元代旧帽顶改为炉顶使用。
