此尊造像表现了一位持莲罗汉的慈悲形象。罗汉头部硕大，光洁无发，额头高广，双目低垂，鼻梁挺直，嘴含微笑，将罗汉救度世间众生的光辉形象完美呈现于世人面前。上身着交领僧衣，左肩处有钩钮，为汉地僧衣独有的形制。双手持有莲花，莲花上置有经书，象征佛教的般若智慧。下身被僧衣完全覆盖，脚踩僧鞋，呈现倚坐姿态。整像胎体厚重，做工精细，硕大的头部、端正的五官、平缓的躯体线条、僧衣的钩钮结构、精细的衣边纹饰，都是明代内地佛教造像常见的造型特征，堪称明代中后期内地造像的经典作品。尤其是此尊的题材极为罕见，其宗教和文化价值非常巨大。
