金刚橛，亦称普巴杵，原为印度的武器，后为佛教吸收，用以摧毁觉悟道路上的魔障。与其他金刚橛不同，此橛顶上饰有马头明王，故称为马头明王金刚橛。马头明王具三面，皆戴骷髅冠饰，赤发怒耸，如烈焰焚天。浓眉怒目，龇牙卷舌，面现忿怒之意，表意降服贪、嗔、痴三毒。三只马头从怒发中探出，是为马头明王的标志，意味啃食所有世间障碍。杵刃部为摩羯口吐三棱杵，代表对三世和三界的控制。此金刚杵以合金铜铸造，铜质润泽，做工精细，神灵面容及细节刻画带有典型的蒙古地区雕塑特征，细细观之有庄重威严之势扑面而来，为修持法器中的上佳之作。
