A set of 4 small Chinese famille rose plates depicting scenic views of Xizi Lake. Each has an inscription with 2 seals and a 4-character mark on the bottom, and 3 bats around the exterior. Dimensions are: 1 inch tall X 5 1/2 inches wide; 2.5 cm tall X 14 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: All are in good condition. Provenance: From the estate of Albert T Quon in Beverly Hills, CA. Mr. Quon was born in China and came to the US as a teenager. He graduated from USC in 1928 and established a successful import/export business in both China and the US. He was the first Chinese American to purchase property in Beverly Hills. He also became the first Asian admitted to the Los Angeles Rotary Club, and the first Asian to serve on the Board of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. He donated millions of dollars to his Alma mater, USC.
