A Chinese planter dating from the Republic period. The planter has a 6-character mark on the bottom. It features famille rose roundels against a yellow ground etched with vine tracery. Dimensions are: 5 3/4 inches tall X 7 1/2 inches wide; 14.6 cm tall X 19.1 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Glaze chips to the bottom. Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Kwok Woon Kun; shipped to Canada in 1981; acquired in Hong Kong prior to 1969. Mr. Kwok Woon Kun was a shareholder of Wing On Company International Ltd, a well-known department store group in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
