款识：石君氏拟稿 钤印：石君（白） 李石君（1867～1933），清末画家。名明智，字以行。原籍四川雅州（今四川雅安）。指画师法高其佩，作品墨韵沉酣淋漓，自出新意，著名于时，蜀人多重之，亦擅篆刻。光绪十四年（1888年）曾将自刻印编辑成《虽彝山房印存》（三册）一书，《篆刻年历》将其专条收录。清光绪23年（1897年，阴历丁酉年）在他30岁时考取拔贡，随后又参加朝考，逐渐获得了功名。后来李石君移居天津，其间亦常小住北平，与齐白石、陈半丁、姚茫父、颜伯龙、金拱北、王雪涛等名家聚会大马神庙的古瑁轩（历史上曾是一座艺术殿堂），在此一起听戏聚会，畅所欲言，并谈艺论画、切磋艺术、研究金石、说古道今。此时，李石君独具风格的指画，已达到炉火纯青的境界，驰誉津门画坛，被人们尊为“墨魔”。
