A pair of Chinese famille rose octagonal porcelain planters with trays. The planters display a scene of a village in landscape and have a four-character mark on the bottom. Dimensions are: 6 3/4 in. tall X 9 3/4 in. wide; 17.1 cm tall X 27.8 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Significant glaze chipping to the interior, staining to the bottom. Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Kwok Woon Kun, formerly a shareholder of Wing On Company, a well-known department store group in Hong Kong and Shanghai. This collection was collected in Hong Kong prior to Mr. Kwok's death in 1969. His collection was shipped to Canada in 1981 and was inherited by Mr. Kwok’s daughter and grandson.
