A FEDERAL SATINWOOD INLAID FLAME MAHOGANY DROP FRONT SECRETARY BOOKCASE, EARLY 19TH CENTURY, the molded rectangular cornice above a frieze centering an oval marquetry fan within a conforming green tinted oval reserve, over two glazed doors with Chippendale style mullions opening to a later woven reeds lined two shelf interior and flanked by cushion rounded pilasters, above a hinged slant front panel enclosing a matching oval marquetry fan inlay and opening to reveal a later gilt tooled brown leather writing surface before small drawers, arched open pigeon holes and variously shaped hidden compartments flanking a small central hinged door continuing the fan marquetry decoration, over three short frieze drawers flanked by lopers and three graduated long drawers, each fitted with later brass bale handles and satinwood string inlay throughout, raised on shaped block form feet.
