Song Wenzhi born 1919, in Taicang (Jiangsu Province); died 1999. Painter. Landscapes with figures. Song Wenzhi origionally studied advertising art in Shanghai. He trained at the Suzhou art training intstitute and taught at secondary schools and teacher-training colleges. He was deputy director of the traditional painting institute and vice president of the Jiangsu Province painter’s association. He was a Guohua painter who executed highly politicised industrial landscapes during the 1970s.
