The outer case's octagonal shape was inspired by the 310 AD Roman Massentius Basilica, and incorporates a state-of-the-art movement and ultra-modern materials. At first glace, one is automatically drawn to the 11 neon-green pillars that radiate from the centre of the watch. These captivating pillars illuminate like glow-sticks either under low or no light condition because they are coated with black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon), ITR2 (carbon nanotube particles) and Superluminova. The Octo Tourbillon Sapphire case is titanium coated with black DLC. Synthetic, scratch-resistant sapphire is used for the case sides and to house calibre BVL206. The openwork dial and transparent case sides allow the wearer to peer into the watch and observe the apparatus's inner workings from a different perspective. Calibre BVL206 features a flying tourbillon that beats 21'600 per hour with a power reserve of 64 hours. There is a power reserve indicator located at the back of the watch. The present lot is limited to 50 pieces and the crown numbered 26, brand new with Bvlgari box and certificate. The last known retail price is approximately HK$600,000.
