AN UNUSUAL PART SILK SIGNED TEHERAN RUG, NORTH PERSIA approx: 7ft.3in. x 4ft.7in.(221cm. x 140cm. Rather unusual design for this type, more associated with Kashan weaving and unusual design. Very good colour combination with light beige field, yellow medallion and green border. The pile is full with soft wool and part silk used on field and borders design. Selvages original. Ends with original kilim and short fringes. Very finely woven piece, approx: 8 x 8 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk warps. in General this rug is in very good condition. Elegant and eye pleasing piece signature cartouche at one end.
